How Do You Check The Transmission Fluid of VW

Learning how to check your transmission fluid isn’t challenging. In the hands of experts, it can be done in a few minutes. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Start by turning the car on. You can expect an accurate read on your transmission fluid only when then transmission gets warm.
  • Detect the transmission fluid dipstick. It could be found near the oil dipstick, so you should not have any trouble. If you encounter difficulties, just take the help of your nearest VW Service Greensboro NC center.
  • Undo the dipstick and use your fingers to inspect the consistency of the fluid. It should be pink to light red in tone. If you notice any changes in color, you need to go for a change. Even if the fluid gives off a burnt smell, it’s a red flag.
  • If you notice any such issues, it’s time to check your transmission fluid level. Wipe off the dipstick with a rag and reinsert it. Then remove it once more. Check if it’s below the “Full” line. If so, you need to add more.
  • Carefully, use a funnel to restore transmission fluid to the proper level. Don’t rush. Be sure to stop often when adding a fluid and check where you’re at.
